The producer price index (PPI) made no change in May from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
Industrial goods price rose 0.2 percent in May from a month ago. Price for coal and oil product climbed 1.9 percent, keeping an upward momentum for the fourth consecutive month.
Dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chip price fell 0.5 percent, continuing to decline for 10 straight months, but the May fall was slower than a 9.9 percent drop in April.
Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products contracted 2.3 percent last month, offsetting the higher crude oil price.
Tomato price tumbled 34.5 percent, and those for oriental melon and onion posted a double-digit decline.
