Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers fell last month as consumer spending weakened over the COVID-19 outbreak, central bank data showed Friday.

The producer price index (PPI) stood at 103.74 in February, down 0.3 percent from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). It was the first decline in three months.

Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products retreated 3.1 percent as private consumption reduced following the outbreak of the COVID-19. The number of confirmed cases topped 8,600 here in the latest tally.

Industrial product price slipped 0.5 percent in February from a month earlier on cheaper crude oil.

Services price was unchanged in the cited period as lower price for eatery and lodging services offset higher price for real estate services.
