The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index decreased by 35.39 points to 4,743.37. The all-share index went down by 21.63 points, or 0.73 percent, to 2,927.02.
Trading volume reached 413.31 million shares worth 5.68 billion pesos (112.29 million U.S. dollars).
There were 55 gainers, 133 losers while 35 stocks closed flat.
(The PSE has shortened its trading hours -- from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- since last Monday, March 16, as the enhanced community quarantine imposed on Metro Manila due to COVID-19 outbreak.)
