Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues in the first quarter of this year increased 4.7 percent year-on-year to more than 1,246 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 54.2 billion U.S. dollars), the country's General Statistics Office said on Monday.
The country's goods retail sales stood at 985.8 trillion Vietnamese dong, up 7.7 percent, with sales of food and foodstuffs growing 9.3 percent, petroleum and oil rising 8.4 percent, home appliances growing 7.7 percent and garments increasing 6.6 percent.
In the three-month period, restaurant and accommodation revenues were 126.2 trillion Vietnamese dong, down 9.6 percent, while tourism revenues stood at 7.8 trillion Vietnamese dong, down 27.8 percent, the office said.
In 2019, Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.8 percent year-on-year to nearly 4,940 trillion Vietnamese dong, with the goods retail sales surging 12.7 percent to over 3,751 trillion Vietnamese dong.
