WARSAW, April 15 (Xinhua) -- The Polish Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved the provisions which make mask-wearing obligatory in public spaces starting Thursday.

According to the provisions published after the approval, it will be an obligation for citizens to cover both mouth and nose with a mask or scarf or handkerchief or even part of the clothing in public spaces, including streets, shops, markets, banks, public buildings and public transport.

Children under the age of four and those who cannot cover their mouth or nose because of existing health conditions, moderate or profound intellectual disability or dependence, as well as those performing professional activities with no direct contact with clients, will be exempt.

The provisions will be lifted until further notice.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Poland has reached 7,582, with 286 deaths, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.
