NEW YORK -- Global confirmed COVID-19 cases topped 9 million on Monday, reaching 9,003,042 as of 12:33 p.m. (1633 GMT), according to data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
A total of 469,122 people worldwide have died of the disease, the data showed.

RABAT -- A total of 195 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Morocco on Monday, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 10,172.
The number of the patients cured increased to 8,366 with 82 new recoveries, said Hind Ezzine, head of the Department of Epidemic Diseases of the Ministry of Health, at a regular press briefing.

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia registered on Monday 3,393 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the kingdom to 161,005, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Saudi Ministry of Health also reported 40 more deaths and 4,045 new recovered cases, increasing the death toll to 1,307 and the total recoveries to 105,175.

FREETOWN -- The second batch of medical supplies donated by the Chinese embassy were handed over to Sierra Leone here on Monday to help the country's fight against COVID-19.
The donation includes 10,032 testing kits, 5,000 PPEs, 15,000 N95 respirators, 150,000 surgical masks, 7,000 medical goggles, 7,000 medical gloves and 3,000 medical shoe covers.

CAIRO -- Egypt reported on Monday 1,576 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total cases registered in the country since mid-February to 56,809, said the health ministry.
Meanwhile, 85 COVID-19 patients died from the coronavirus, raising the death toll to 2,278, while 397 more patients were completely cured, increasing the total recoveries in the country to 15,133, Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said in a statement.

MOSCOW -- Russia recorded 7,600 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its total to 592,280, the country's coronavirus response center said in a statement Monday.
The death toll grew by 95 to 8,206, while 344,416 people have recovered, including 4,705 over the last 24 hours, according to the statement.
