Trade deficit in the intellectual property rights amounted to 750 million U.S. dollars in the January-June period, but it was down from a deficit of 880 million dollars tallied a year earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
Trade in industrial property rights logged a deficit of 1.71 billion dollars in the first half, worsening from a deficit of 1.45 billion dollars a year earlier.
Patent deficit diminished to 970 million dollars in the first half from 1.34 billion dollars a year ago, while the deficit in brand and franchise rights soared from 10 million dollars to 740 million dollars.
