The registered capital of the new enterprises totaled over 1,428 trillion Vietnamese dong (62.1 billion U.S. dollars), up 10.7 percent, said the office.
The number of new firms in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector grew 31.1 percent, while that of industry and construction expanded 7.8 percent and services sector down 8.1 percent.
During the three quarters, more than 34,600 firms, which had temporarily ceased operations due to various difficulties, resumed their activities, posting an increase of 25.5 percent. Meanwhile, nearly 12,100 enterprises were dissolved, up 0.1 percent.
In September alone, some 10,300 new firms were formed, down 23.1 percent against the previous month. As a large part of September this year coincided with the seventh lunar month, it discouraged people from starting a business, the office said.
Last year, Vietnam saw 138,100 new enterprises with total registered capital over 1,730 trillion Vietnamese dong (75.2 billion U.S. dollars), up 5.2 percent in quantity and 17.1 percent in capital against 2018.
