DHAKA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund Wednesday predicted 4.4 percent economic growth for Bangladesh for the fiscal year 2020-21 (July 2020-June 2021).

The Washington-based lender made the projection in its latest World Economic Outlook (WEO), which was published on its website.

"We still expect that the country would quickly come back to previous growth rates, if global economic conditions are supportive," IMF's resident representative for Bangladesh Ragnar Gudmundsson said in the IMF Country Focus.

The global growth is projected at 4.4 percent in 2020, a less severe contraction than forecast in the June 2020 World Economic Outlook Update.
