Around 15 percent were fearing a further decline in their incomes during the same period, local digital newspaper VnExpress reported Friday.
The impact of the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak that started late July had been less severe than the first, the firm said in its report titled "Rebounding from COVID-19 in Vietnam" published Thursday.
Among the Vietnamese respondents, 79 percent reported a decrease in income, down 11 percentage points compared to data collected by the company in May 2020.
The survey, conducted from Sept. 18 to 22 collected the opinions of 500 people online. Participants were divided into three groups of low incomes, average incomes and high incomes.
