S.Korean shares open higher

SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- South Korean shares opened higher Monday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 7.40 points, or 0.33 percent, to trade at 2,274.55 in the first 15 minutes of trading.

The local currency was quoted at 1,136.45 won versus the U.S. dollar, down 1.35 won from the previous close.
