S. Korean shares open higher

SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- South Korean shares opened higher Tuesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 31.14 points, or 1.35 percent, to trade at 2,331.30 as of 10:15 a.m. local time.

The local currency was quoted at 1,133.3 won versus the U.S. dollar, up 0.3 won from the previous close.
