SAO PAULO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vehicle production in Brazil rose 4.7 percent in November year-on-year, confirming a recovery in the second half of the year, while exports jumped 38.6 percent year-on-year, the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) said on Monday.

Some 238,200 units were manufactured in November, 0.7 percent more compared to October.

The unexpected positive outcome was the number of units exported in November, 44,007, marking the best export performance since August 2018.

"This rapid rise is justified by purchases from neighboring countries, especially Argentina, and also by orders anticipating the end of the year" sales, the president of Anfavea, Luiz Carlos Moraes, told reporters at a press conference.

"The good numbers for November offer hope for a better 2021, since the pandemic will be controlled by vaccines and the business environment in the country will be stimulated by measures to control public debt and structural reforms to be competitive," said Moraes.
