S.Korean stocks open higher

SEOUL, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- South Korean stocks opened higher Friday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 28.57 points, or 1.04 percent, to trade at 2,775.03 as of 10:30 a.m. local time.

The local currency was quoted at 1,087.4 won versus the U.S. dollar, up 0.3 won from the previous close.
