SANTIAGO, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Chilean financial analysts raised their economic forecast from 5.2 percent to 5.3 percent growth in 2021, amid the crisis causes by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Bank of Chile said on Wednesday.

According to the bank's Economic Expectations Survey for March, economists also projected a 3.5 percent increase in the gross domestic product (GDP) for 2022, up from the previous monthly estimate of 3.4 percent.

The survey showed encouraging results for the South American country's economy, despite the fact that in January it had negative figures, falling 3.1 percent.

Experts are confident in the reactivation of activities, as well as the massive vaccination campaign against COVID-19, in which more than 4.3 million people have been vaccinated so far.

The central bank's monthly survey is sent to a group of financial institution advisors, as well as academics and consultants.
