LUSAKA, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's annual inflation slowed down to 19.3 percent in November from 21.1 percent in October, its statistics agency said on Thursday.

The Zambia Statistics Agency attributed the decrease to price reductions in both food and non-food items.

In its monthly release, the statistics agency said food inflation decreased to 25.4 percent in November from 28.1 percent the previous month due to price reductions in food items like cereals, meats, fish and vegetables among others.

On the other hand, non-food inflation decreased to 12.2 percent in November from 13.2 percent the previous month due to decreases in prices of major household appliances, purchase of vehicles, iron sheets and floor tiles.
