BERLIN, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Germany's exports to China rose by 6.4 percent month-on-month to 9.5 billion euros (10.5 billion U.S. dollars) in February, according to provisional data published by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Monday.

Including imported goods worth 13.8 billion euros in February, China remained Germany's biggest foreign trade partner, according to Destatis.

At the same time, Germany's total exports rose by 6.4 percent month-on-month to 124.7 billion euros, according to Destatis. Imports increased by 4.5 percent to 113.1 billion euros.

The United States remained Germany's largest customer country. Goods worth 11.2 billion euros were exported to the U.S. in February, slightly up from January, according to Destatis.

Imports from other countries of the European Union (EU) grew 10.4 percent on the previous month to 67.8 billion euros in February.

Already before the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Germany's foreign trade with Russia started declining as exports and imports to Russia fell by 6.3 percent and 7.3 percent, respectively, according to Destatis.

The conflict would have a "massive impact" on German foreign trade, warned Dirk Jandura, president of the German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services Association (BGA). "The medium- to long-term effects are hardly foreseeable so far." (1 euro = 1.10 U.S. dollars)
