SEOUL, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers kept rising for three straight months in March due to higher commodity prices, central bank data showed Thursday.

The producer price index (PPI) came to 116.46 in March, up 1.3 percent from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It marked the fastest increase in over five years since January 2017, continuing to advance for the third consecutive month.

Producer price for coal and oil products surged 15.6 percent in March on a monthly basis, logging the highest gain in 21 months since June 2020.

Price for chemical products went up 2.8 percent in the month, posting the highest in 11 months since April 2021.

The price among suppliers for agricultural, livestock and fishery products added 0.2 percent, and the figure for tap water, electricity and natural gas rose 0.2 percent.

Services price was up 0.3 percent in March from a month earlier as higher global grain price raised cost for eatery and lodging services.
