S.Korea's producer's price keeps rising for 4 months in April

SEOUL, May 20 (Xinhua) -- The price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers kept rising for four straight months in April due to the expensive crude oil, central bank data showed Friday.

The producer price index (PPI) gained 1.1 percent in April from a year earlier, continuing to rise for four months since January, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

Producer's price for industrial products, including oil products, climbed 1.2 percent last month.

The price for coal and oil products advanced 2.9 percent, and those for primary metal and chemical products picked up 2.6 percent and 1.0 percent respectively.

The price for electricity, natural gas and tap water jumped 4.5 percent in April from a year earlier on higher commodity prices.

Agricultural product price declined 2.3 percent, but those for livestock and fishery products increased 7.4 percent and 2.6 percent respectively.

Services price added 0.4 percent last month on higher cost for the transport and the eatery and lodging services.
