Vietnam's foreign trade up 16.4 pct in 6 months

HANOI, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam posted an estimated foreign trade value of 371.17 billion U.S. dollars in the first six months of this year, up 16.4 percent year on year, with a trade surplus of 710 million U.S. dollars, the country's General Statistics Office said Thursday.

Specifically, the export revenue stood at 185.94 billion U.S. dollars, up 17.3 percent, while the import revenue increased 15.5 percent year on year to 185.23 billion U.S. dollars.

The United States remained Vietnam's biggest importer with turnovers of 55.9 billion U.S. dollars, and China was its largest exporter with turnovers of 61.3 billion U.S. dollars, according to the office.
