In his English speech delivered at the National Day Rally on Sunday, Lee said that Singapore has already had schemes to attract and retain top talent, especially in the technology industry. "But we need to do more, especially in the sectors with good potential."
Lee said that the new initiatives to be announced by the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and economic agencies will not only help attract top talent globally but also make the city-state's own talent want to stay in Singapore and participate in building a dynamic and outstanding nation.
Singapore must build a world-class talent pool by developing its own talent while attracting and retaining top talent, Lee said. "This is an age where talent makes all the difference to a nation's success," he added.
