SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers continued to rise for seven straight months in July due to expensive agricultural products and higher public utility rates, central bank data showed Thursday.

The producer price index (PPI) came in at 120.47 in July, up 0.3 percent from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

The index kept gaining for the seventh consecutive month, but the rising pace slowed with 1.6 percent in April, 0.7 percent in May and 0.6 percent in June.

Producer price for industrial products, including oil products, declined 0.6 percent in July from a month earlier due to lower prices for oil products as well as chemical and metal products.

Price for agricultural products surged 11.9 percent, and price for electricity, natural gas and tap water advanced 3.9 percent last month.

Services price went up 0.6 percent on higher costs for the eatery and lodging and transport services, but those for livestock and fishery products retreated 2.0 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively.
