Indian auto companies see robust sales in October

MUMBAI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indian auto companies reported robust sales in October, the corporate filing on bourses showed on Tuesday.

"Our sales volume continued to grow in October on the back of strong festive demand," said Veejay Nakra, president of the automotive division at Mahindra & Mahindra, which sold 32,226 sports utility vehicles during the month, up 61 percent on year.

Maruti Suzuki sold 120,960 units during the month, up 21 percent from the same month last year.

Tata Motors reported a 33-percent growth in passenger vehicles sales at 45,217 units during October.
