The growth was contributed by wholesale and retail trade, food and beverages, and accommodation segments which soared 33.4 percent year on year to 417.8 billion ringgit (88.58 billion dollars), the Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the information and communication, and transportation and storage segments' revenue rose 23.9 percent year on year to 73.4 billion ringgit (15.56 billion dollars).
Private health, private education, arts, entertainment and recreation segments, jumped 45.5 percent year on year to 15.9 billion ringgit (3.37 billion dollars).
Professional and real estate agent segments also increased by 37.3 percent year on year to 10.3 billion ringgit (2.18 billion dollars).
On a quarterly basis, the total revenue of Malaysia's services sector registered a growth of 2.2 percent or 10.9 billion ringgit (2.31 billion dollars).
