Vietnam's plastic imports up 4.9 pct in 11 months

HANOI, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam imported roughly 6.7 million tons of plastic worth approximately 11.7 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, up 4.9 percent in volume and 9.6 percent in value year on year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Tuesday.

Between January and November, the country spent over 7.5 billion dollars importing plastic products, up 3.9 percent from the same period last year, according to the ministry.

In 2021, Vietnam imported over 6.9 million tons of plastic totaling more than 11.6 billion dollars, up 4.7 percent and 38.2 percent respectively from the previous year, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
