BRASILIA, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's financial market lowered its inflation forecast for 2022 from 5.92 percent to 5.79 percent, the Central Bank of Brazil said Monday.

According to the bank's weekly survey of the country's top financial institutions, analysts maintained their inflation forecast for 2023 at 5.08 percent.

Target inflation has been set at 3.5 percent this year and 3.25 percent next year, in both cases with a margin of tolerance of 1.5 percent.

Analysts expect the benchmark interest rate, currently at 13.75 percent annually, to remain unchanged until the end of the year.

The exchange rate forecast expects the U.S. dollar to trade for 5.25 reals both at the end of this year and next year.

Balance of trade estimates (exports and imports) foresees a surplus of 55 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 and 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2023.

Direct foreign investment in Brazil is expected to reach 80 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 and 76 billion U.S. dollars in 2023.
