Shopping in cyberspace stood at 16.94 trillion won (12.8 billion U.S. dollars) in February, up 7.5 percent from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea.
Online demand for travel and transport services more than doubled in the month, while culture and leisure services transaction soared 97.7 percent, thanks to the lifting of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Transactions for food and beverage in cyberspace gained 8.3 percent, but demand for food delivery services reduced 11.5 percent amid the eased worry about the pandemic.
Mobile shopping through smartphones gained 4.6 percent over the year to 12.59 trillion won (9.6 billion dollars) in February.
