Year-on-year comparison showed that the production of natural rubber fell 2.7 percent from 27,950 tons a year ago, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.
According to the DOSM, total stocks of natural rubber in February declined by 1.5 percent to 191,636 tons as compared to 194,563 tons in January.
Exports of Malaysia's natural rubber amounted to 48,393 tons in February, an increase of 18.4 percent as against 40,867 tons in January.
China remained as the main destination for natural rubber exports, which accounted for 56.9 percent of total exports in February.
This was followed by Germany (7.3 percent), Türkiye (3.6 percent), the United States (2.1 percent) and Egypt (1.5 percent).
The export performance was contributed by natural rubber-based products such as gloves, tyre, tube, rubber thread and condom.
Gloves were the main exports of rubber-based products with a value of 990 million ringgit (about 224 million U.S. dollars) in February, an increase of 5.6 percent as compared to 930 million ringgit (about 211 million dollars) in January.
