The seafood exports were recorded at 456.67 million U.S. dollars in July-May of the ongoing fiscal year as against the exports of 389.87 million U.S. dollars in July-May of the last fiscal year 2021-2022, showing a growth of 17.13 percent, the PBS said on Monday.
In terms of quantity, the exports increased by 32.65 percent from 148,354 metric tons in July-May last fiscal year to 196,785 metric tons in July-May this fiscal year, the PBS statistics showed.
On a year-on-year basis, the seafood exports surged by 25.06 percent to 50.58 million U.S. dollars in May 2023 from 40.44 million U.S. dollars during May 2022, according to the data.
However, on a month-on-month basis, the seafood exports decreased by 0.93 percent in May 2023 when compared to the exports of 51.052 million U.S. dollars in April 2023, the PBS said.
