HANOI, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam highlighted the importance of science-technology application in energy development and the efficient use of energy, contributing to realizing the net-zero emission goal by 2050, local media has reported.

According to its newly issued national plan in the fields of energy and mining, the Southeast Asian country aims to ensure the country's energy security and development of forms of energy in a systematic, suitable and diverse manner, local newspaper Vietnam News reported on Friday, citing the plan.

The plan noted that the country will promote investment and establish harmonious and effective extraction and processing methods using advanced technology and modern equipment in conformity with the trends of the world.
