WARSAW, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Poland's seasonally-unadjusted gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.4 percent year-on-year in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, following two consecutive quarters of year-on-year declines, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Tuesday.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the seasonally-adjusted Polish GDP grew by 1.4 percent in the third quarter, according to the GUS.

After the figures were announced, head of the Polish Development Fund Pawel Borys wrote on social media platform X: "The Polish economy is shifting to a higher gear."

"I believe that Poland's economic growth in 2024 will surprise positively and could be significantly above 3 percent," he said.

As these figures are estimates, a more comprehensive understanding of Poland's economic condition in Q3 will be available when the first regular GDP estimate is published on Nov. 30.
