ULAN BATOR, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia increased the monthly minimum wage by 20 percent to 660,000 Mongolian tugriks (around 193 U.S. dollars) starting in 2024, local media reported Wednesday, citing the country's Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
There are around 1.1 million officially registered employees in Mongolia with a total population of over 3.4 million.
Currently, more than 10 percent of the employees receive minimum-wage salaries, according to the National Statistics Office.
