The processing and manufacturing sector, the main driver behind the surge, went up 19.3 percent year-on-year in the first month of 2024.
The electricity production and distribution sector expanded 21.6 percent, and the water supply and waste management sector increased 5.7 percent.
The mineral exploitation sector reported a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent this month.
The index of industrial production in January increased in 60 localities nationwide and dropped in three others, said the office.
