TASHKENT, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank expects Uzbekistan's economy to grow by 5.3 percent in 2024, according to the Uzbek media.

The figure was presented in one of the bank's economy reports covering Europe and Central Asia. The figure slightly decreased as opposed to the forecast in the bank's report in January when the indicator was estimated at 5.5 percent.

Recently, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) also predicted a possibility of economic slowdown to 5.5 percent for Uzbekistan this year, attributing it to the regulated prices on the market.

Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) growth reached 6 percent in 2023.
