The Southeast Asian country shipped milled rice to 60 countries and regions during the January-April period, the news release said, adding that China remained a key buyer.
The kingdom exported 67,457 tonnes of milled rice to China during the four-month period, making a gross revenue of 42.3 million dollars, the news release said.
Rice varieties Cambodia exported included fragrant rice, white rice, parboiled rice, and organic rice, among others.
Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul said recently that Cambodia has been exploring new markets for its rice exports, specifically targeting countries that have free trade agreement with the kingdom, including participants of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.
The RCEP involves 15 Asia-Pacific countries including the 10 ASEAN member countries -- Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam -- and their five trading partners, namely China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
