The composite business sentiment index (CBSI) in all industries increased 2.8 points over the month to 95.7 in June, continuing to go up since March, according to the Bank of Korea.
The index, however, stayed below the long-term average of 100 amid lingering economic uncertainties.
The CBSI among manufacturers climbed 3.0 points to 97.4 in June compared to the previous month, while the index for non-manufacturers gained 2.5 points to 94.3.
The results were based on a survey of 1,863 manufacturers and 1,468 non-manufacturers conducted between June 12 and June 19.
Manufacturers selected sluggish domestic demand, economic uncertainties and higher labor cost as key barriers to doing business, while non-manufacturers picked domestic demand slump, uncertain economic situations and higher labor cost.
The economic sentiment index (ESI), which reflects sentiment among both businesses and consumers, stood at 94.7 in June, up 0.9 points from the previous month.
