Export stood at 17.75 billion U.S. dollars in the July 1-July 10 period, up 33.8 percent compared to the same period of last year, according to Korea Customs Service.
The daily average export increased 10.2 percent in the 10-day period. The monthly outbound shipment kept growing for the ninth straight month through June.
Semiconductor export spiked 85.7 percent to 3.39 billion dollars and automotive shipment climbed 9.8 percent to 1.59 billion dollars.
Shipment for oil products, steel, auto parts, precision machinery and home appliances expanded in double figures.
Import jumped 26.7 percent from a year earlier to 19.7 billion dollars in the first 10 days of July, sending the trade deficit to 1.95 billion dollars.
Import for crude oil, chips, machinery, oil products, semiconductor equipment, precision machinery, cars and mobile devices advanced in double digits.
