Belarus' GDP grows 5 pct in first half of 2024

MINSK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5 percent in the first half of 2024, the Belarusian State Statistics Committee said on Wednesday.

According to figures released by the statistics committee, the country's GDP was 113.8 billion Belarusian rubles (about 34.8 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2024, up by 5 percent year on year at comparable prices.

Belarus' GDP deflator index in the January-June period was 10.7 percent, compared with the same period of 2023.
