China will highlight research into massive on-grid control technology for renewable energy development in 2016-2020, which would likely help the country to have 200 million kilowatts of wind power capacity and 100 million kilowatts of PV power capacity ready for power grid access by 2020, according to a report by Chinese Society For Electrical Engineering.
The report also pointed out that China would establish demonstrative 100MW chemical energy storage system, 100-million-KV offshore wind power generation and transmission projects, research into a new generation of intelligent scheduling, economic operation and security defense system for power grid network that would match massive consumption of new energy by 2020.
