China will strive to increase the market occupancy of industrial robots to over 50 percent in the 13th Five Year Plan period (2016-2020), said Xin Guobin, vice minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Monday that Xin said China will make major breakthroughs in respect of robot key parts and high-end products, and achieve great improvement in robot quality, market occupancy and competitiveness of leading enterprises.
He said China will pay attention to the development of not only industrial robots but also service robots, concentrate on making breakthroughs in five categories of key robot parts, strengthen industrial innovation capacity building, boost demonstration of robot applications, and cultivate leading enterprises.
