The Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China has released the full text of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) on Provincial Economic and Social Development.
The province proposes to maintain medium-to-high speed growth, double its 2010 GDP and the 2010 per capita income of both urban and rural residents by 2020 on the basis of more balanced, inclusive, sustainable development, propel faster growth of urban and rural residents' income than that of GDP, and realize faster growth of rural residents' income than that of urban residents'.
Shandong sets an annual economic growth target at around 7.5 percent during the 2016-2020 period, faster than the nation's minimum target of 6.5 percent.
The proposal also stresses fully implementation of innovation-driven development strategy and carrying out the transition from 'made in Shandong' to 'created in Shandong'. The province also attaches significance in developing advanced manufacturing industry and modern services.
