China Life net profits up 22.8pct o-y to RMB33.837 bln in Q1-Q3

China Life Insurance Co. (601628.SH; 02628.HK; LFC.NYSE) earned 33.837 billion yuan in net profits in the January-September period, up 22.8 percent year on year, according to the company's filing to the stock exchange on late Wednesday. Meanwhile, its operating revenue increased 21.9 percent year on year to 424.007 billion yuan during the reporting period. Basic earnings per share reached 1.20 yuan in the first three quarters.

The company attributed its good performance to the increase of its investment returns and business development. By the end of September, China Securities Finance Corporation Limited had held 5.4266 trillion shares, accounting for 1.92 percent of the total equity and ranking the third largest shareholder.

Central Huijin Investment Co. had held 1.1972 trillion shares, becoming the fourth largest shareholder. As of the end of September, the insurer's total assets had amounted to 2.3224 trillion yuan, up 3.4 percent from the end of 2014.
