China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK) has disclosed the results of centralized procurement for optical fiber and cable products in the period of 2015-2016. The telecom giant has been China's, even the world's, largest buyer for optical fibers and cables since 2009 when Chinese authority issued licenses for 3G telecom services.
China Mobile purchased optical fiber of 94.52 million kilometers and optical cable of 98.48 million kilometers of fiber, hitting a new record high. A total of 16 producers won the bids for optical fibers and cables and Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies (600498.SH) won a 13.54 percent share and a 9.94 percent share, respectively, in the bids for optical fibers and optical cables.
Share price of Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies rose 0.26 yuan, or 0.99 percent, to close at 26.57 yuan on Monday.
