German automaker Audi AG announced on Wednesday that its sales in China increased by 6.2 percent in the first three quarters of 2016 year on year.
According to a statement issued on its website, a total of 440,233 automobiles have been delivered to Chinese customers in the first nine months.
Alone in September, 54,499 units have been sold, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.6 percent.
The Ingolstadt-based company sold around 173,850 units in September worldwide, up by 1.7 percent compared to September 2015. Therefore, a total of 1,408,800 cars have been delivered worldwide, an increase of 4.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
"Over the coming months we will further strengthen and considerably rejuvenate our product portfolio," said Dietmar Voggenreiter, board member for sales and marketing.
