U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday with eight of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of BeiGene and JD.com rose 5.07 percent and 2.84 percent respectively, leading the advancers among the top 10 stocks.

Shares of TAL Education and New Oriental declined 1.93 percent and 0.92 percent respectively, the only two laggards among the top 10 stocks.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Tuesday as investors digested the latest corporate earnings reports as well as major economic data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 8.07 points, or 0.03 percent, to 25,891.32. The S&P 500 increased 4.16 points, or 0.15 percent, to 2,779.76. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 14.36 points, or 0.19 percent, to 7,486.77.

As of Friday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,606.54, marking a 1.61-percent increase for the month-to-date returns and a 13.76-percent gain for the year-to-date returns.

U.S. stocks market was closed on Monday in observance of Presidents' Day.
