Specifically, Vietnam's goods retail sales stood at over 3,400 trillion Vietnamese dong (147.8 billion U.S. dollars), up 12.7 percent, with sales of cultural and educational items growing 16.8 percent, food and foodstuffs growing 15.4 percent, home appliances growing 11.5 percent, garments growing 12.6 percent, and vehicles growing 10.6 percent.
In the eleven-month period, restaurant and accommodation revenues reached nearly 534 trillion Vietnamese dong (23.2 billion U.S. dollars), up 9.6 percent, and tourism revenues stood at roughly 42 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 1.8 billion U.S. dollars), up 12.2 percent, the office said.
In 2018, Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.7 percent year-on-year to nearly 4,396 trillion Vietnamese dong (191.1 billion U.S. dollars). Specifically, its goods retail sales surged 12.4 percent to over 3,306 trillion Vietnamese dong (143.7 billion U.S. dollars).
