SEOUL, July 7 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's tech behemoth Samsung Electronics saw its operating profit hit the highest in 11 quarters during the second quarter, the company said Wednesday.
Preliminary figure for operating profit amounted to 12.5 trillion won (11 billion U.S. dollars) in the April-June quarter, up 53.4 percent from a year earlier. It was the biggest in 11 quarters since the third quarter of 2018.
Revenue jumped 18.9 percent to 63 trillion won (55.4 billion U.S. dollars) in the second quarter, logging the highest second-quarter figure in the company's history.
Net income and detailed earnings on each business unit will be announced later this month after an external audit and the board of directors' approval.
