During the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Felipe Hennel Fay, vice-president of SEMP TCL, said the factory's annual air conditioner manufacturing capacity is expected to reach 1 million units.
Covering more than 34,000 square meters, the factory is expected to create 1,000 jobs for local residents and expand the market share of TCL air conditioners in Brazil.
Besides its core products, televisions and professional air conditioners, SEMP TCL plans to bring more electronic appliances to Brazil.
Jointly established in 2016 by Chinese electronics giant TCL Technology and time-honored Brazilian home appliance manufacturer SEMP, SEMP TCL began to earn profits from the first year of its establishment and has ranked among the top three in terms of market share in five years.
