BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- China's road logistics price index went up 0.84 percent in April from a year ago, industry data showed.

The index came in at 101 last month, up 0.71 percent on a monthly basis, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and the Guangdong Lin'an Logistics Group.

The sub-index for full truckload logistics price, which mainly measures bulk commodity and regional transportation, stood at 101.4 in the period, rising 0.59 percent from March and edging up 0.69 percent year on year.

Road transportation demand saw a further decline, driven by multiple factors including the resurgence of COVID-19 and geopolitical conflicts, according to the survey.

China's road logistics price index is based on the average price in the last week of December 2012, with the monthly index starting point at 100.
