Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Friday called for implementation of the new growth policy laid out during the four-day key meeting of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which highlighted innovation, and coordinated and green development.

On a tour to east China's Anhui Province, Li urged local authorities to focus on deepening reforms, and enhance growth quality and efficiency for long-term sustainable growth.

While visiting a public resources trading center in Hefei City, Li stressed the importance of fostering a transparent and fair platform for efficient resource allocation, and pledged to allow the market to play a larger role in the process.

Li also went to the city's job center and automaker Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., where he stressed innovation and entrepreneurship to provide new growth impetus to the economy.

China's economy expanded 6.9 percent year on year in the third quarter of 2015, the lowest reading since the second quarter of 2009. According to the communique released after the key CPC meeting that adopted proposals for economic and social development in the 13th Five-year Plan (2016 to 2020), China will prioritize quality and efficient development.

The country is also aiming to double its 2010 GDP and per capita income of residents both in cities and rural areas by 2020.
